strategic planning
The College of Charleston, building on its strong foundation as a public liberal arts and sciences university, is in the process of designing a strategic plan to create a world class institution. The finished plan will define the College’s priorities and lay the foundation for a successful capital campaign that will take us to new heights in educational excellence.
Strategic Planning Updates
The College is excited to announce the unveiling of a Draft Umbrella Strategic Plan. The Plan includes the College’s core purpose, core values and envisioned future. It contains 10 major goals distilled from input received from faculty, staff, alumni, parents, trustees, legislators and the community. President George Benson calls the plan “the catalyst for visionary discussions within all of our schools and divisions.” The President has asked the leaders of each school and division to develop a unit plan that aligns with the umbrella plan by March 31, 2009. The final College of Charleston Strategic Plan will be completed by late summer. “I am confident that this process will allow us to build upon the College’s solid foundation and strengthen our mission as a first-class institution of higher education,” Benson says.
